Consulting Division:

Langer Equestrian Group Consulting has been involved in equestrian consulting projects ranging from facility design and evaluation, program analysis and development, to equestrian event design and production. LEG’s principal’s, Larry and Marnye Langer, build a team of talented and experienced associates who meet the particular needs of each consulting project. As a result, LEG Consulting brings a wide complement of skills to any equestrian related project.

We are experienced in both private and public use facilities. LEG Consulting has participated in the development of facilities from ideas on cocktail napkins, to working with designers, architects, engineers and management of large, comprehensive, multi-use facilities. In addition, we analyze and evaluate existing facilities and operations to suggest additions, modifications or improvements in order to better meet their needs and functions.

LEG Consulting contributes to the success of a project through analyzing and developing sound programs related to a facility or an equestrian activity. Our analysis of facilities, programs, and activities is enhanced by our strong financial background. We have assisted groups with developing financial models, educational programs, lesson and training programs, public use activities, in addition to addressing community issues and appropriate uses of a facility. Because of our experience in both private industry and the public sector, we can meet and address the needs of most situations when a consultant is required.

Event consulting, production, and management are aspects of LEG Consulting where our experience is hard to rival. We focus on hunter/jumper events, but have the experience and contacts necessary to produce a wide range of events. As a result, LEG Consulting has the expertise to knowledgeably work with many breeds and disciplines. In addition to producing successful shows for our own company, we have produced many successful events on a contractual basis utilizing terms that are the most beneficial to all parties involved. From flat fees to various profit sharing models, routinely our clients are very satisfied with the events LEG is involved in. From one-day events to multi-breed, multi-discipline shows, to the Olympics, LEG is capable of assisting with the production of almost any equestrian related event.

Langer Equestrian Group, Inc. was formed in 1971 and has been a powerhouse in West Coast equestrian sports ever since. Its main office is located in Southern California at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center in Burbank. Run by its two principals, LEG is a multi-faceted company, covering a wide gamut of different equestrian related operations.

LEG Principals

Larry Langer:
Larry founded Langer Equestrian Group, Inc. in early 1971 and has been at its helm ever since asPresident and CEO. He has been actively involved with horses for his whole life as a rider, trainer, owner, official, show manager, author, and consultant. He was the Show Jumping Competition Manager at the 1992 World Cup Finals and the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. He is the author of “Know Stable Design and Management” for the Farnam Company. He was Director of the Pacific Horse Center for 10 years and taught three Horsemastership courses accredited through California State University – Sacramento. His education includes degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration. Larry has developed a wealth of knowledge over the many years, garnering the contacts and respect from the horse industry that only a lifetime ofdedication and success can bring.

Marnye Langer:
Marnye brings a complimentary set of skills to the LEG consulting table. She has strong organizational and communication skills and is a published author, The Tevis Cup: To Finish is to Win (Lyon’s Press). She works as both a publicist and freelance journalist with articles in numerous magazines, both in and out of the equestrian field. Marnye is a five-time winner of the National Journalist of the Year title for the Chronicle of the Horse, and is a member of the exclusive International Equestrian Journalist Club. She was Director of Communications for the National Hunter/Jumper Council and holds a national judge’s license. Marnye worked for the California fair industry for over ten years and was part of the Western Fairs Association Management Program. She is a graduate of the University of California at Davis
and is currently completing her Executive MBA. She serves as LEG’s Chief Financial Officer.

LEG Consulting Associates

George Chatigny:
George is the General Manager of the Los Angeles Equestrian Center in Burbank, California and has been active with horses since 1975 in a myriad of capacities. He brings his unique talents to LEG Consulting specializing in the breed and western disciplines, production and management of breed and western shows, serving as an official, director, or committee member of local, regional and National equestrian organizations, and most recently in his capacity at the controls of the largest and most prestigious equestrian center in the United States. George is a licensed US
Equestrian Federation Steward and past president of the Western Horse Show Exhibitor Association.

Charlotte Skinner:
Charlotte has been deeply involved in equestrian sport since she began riding in 1966 at age seven. She began riding professionally at 18 and competed nationally and internationally for twelve years. Charlotte lived in Mexico City for seven years and was chief rider/trainer at her own 60-horse training facility. In addition, she is one of the nation’s leading horse show commentators, serving as an announcer at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, and annually at the North American Young Riders’ Championships and the Rolex International Four-Star Eventing Championship. She is fluent in English and Spanish, and has worked in the entertainment industry doing voice over and translation projects. She holds both a national and international jumper judge licenses, and has extensive expertise in equestrian management and administration.
